40 Fires will host the development of the  [Riversimple|http://www.riversimple.com] hydrogen fuel cell powered network electric car.

The development programme is not yet fully active. Today this site contains information on the Riversimple car, and the concept of making a car open source. There are discussion forums where technical and other issues are discussed. You can subscribe for e-mail updates by clicking on [How can I get involved?].

A 307 mpg electric car?
Students from a school in Kansas have built a interesting electric car (based on a racecar chassis) and are claiming to achieve 307mpge. This probably at a constant low speed but it is still very impressive.
